These handbooks have been created through the development of the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT)-owned Certification Scheme for Condition Monitoring Personnel. This scheme is based on the international standard ISO 18436: ‘Condition monitoring and diagnostics of machines’. However, it was recognised by thermography experts on the BINDT technical working committee that a gap in the reference material existed for thermographers. This gap pertains to the practical aspects of thermography in a variety of industry sectors. Both books in this series attempt to answer the many questions posed by experienced thermographers using the new technology and also comprise a training source especially for those seeking certification in condition monitoring under the BINDT scheme.
