What is an Introduction to NDT?

Our NDT appreciation course is designed to give a better understanding of the 5 most common methods of NDT (Basic NDT, Visual, MT, PT, UT, RI) with both theoretical and practical training.

Who should attend this course?

It is aimed at anyone who requires to understand the basics of NDT in particular Quality, Inspection, Marketing and Management personnel and can even be used as an introduction to anyone who favours a career within NDT.

The 5 day course starts with an overview of NDT and is followed by theory and practice of:

Visual Testing
Penetrant Testing
Magnetic Testing
Ultrasonic Testing
Radiography Testing

The theory of each method is covered during a 3 hour training session where the candidate is encouraged to participate and ask questions. It will then be followed up with a 3 hour practical session looking at the equipment necessary to inspect various products found in industry.

There is no examination, this is purely a training course with the intention of giving an overview of each NDT method.

The Introduction to NDT course will take place at Lavender International HQ in the UK.

All other equipment and training materials (with the exception of Level 3 Text Books) are provided by Lavender International.

Protective gloves, protective eye glasses and plastic aprons are also available for the use of students.
