NDT Technician

Code A Weld NDT Ltd are currently looking to recruit a full-time apprentice NDT Technician for future growth within the company. We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual wishing to begin a career within NDT and grow alongside the company.

NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) is a field of engineering that utilises a range of methods to detect and evaluate flaws in materials that may be detrimental to their serviceability. It plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and correct working of the item being tested, whether this is the structure of a building or blades of a turbine.

As a future NDT Technician at Code A Weld you will be key in ensuring the quality of products manufactured by our client’s. You will work across a number of industrial sectors but predominantly in structural engineering. We will support you in becoming certified to PCN Level 2 in several NDT methods including Visual Inspection, Dye Penetrant Inspection, Magnetic Particle Inspection, and Ultrasonic Testing.

The apprenticeship will be delivered by Code A Weld in conjunction with Lavender International.

Job Details:

– Full-time permanent position.

– Full training supplied and paid for.

– 37 hours/week + overtime as required.

– Basic hours Mon-Thurs 08:00-16:30 (30 mins unpaid lunch each day), Fri 08:00-13:00.

– Occasional weekend work.

– Mainly servicing clients around the South-West of England but also work UK wide.

– Company van provided (on completion of training) and fuel paid for.

– Accommodation paid for and daily living allowance when working away from home.

– 20 days holiday per annum + one week Christmas shutdown and all bank holidays.

Essential Requirements:

– Strong knowledge of maths and science

– GCSE’s grade A-C in English, Maths and Science

– Full UK driving license

– Be prepared to travel UK wide (company vehicle provided and fuel paid for)

– Willingness to:

– Work overtime when required

– Work away from home when required

– Work weekends if required

– Local to Bristol/Bath area

Advantageous Skills and Experience:

– A level in science based subject

– Welding experience or knowledge

– Previous NDT training

– CSCS card or CCNSG Site Safety Passport

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £19,000.00-£22,500.00 per year
