On Saturday 13th August, Steve Lavender, Helen Wray and Rebecca Roberts of Lavender International NDT will be taking part in the Macmillan Trans-Pennine Mighty Hike.

The event involves trekking 26.2 miles through the Peak District, starting in Bankswood Park, Hadfield and finishing in Chapeltown Park, Sheffield.

In 2015, 2.5 million people were living with the diagnosis cancer in the UK. This figure is expected to increase to four million by 2030. The Macmillan charity was founded in 1911 by Douglas Macmillan with an aim of providing information to all people with cancer, homes for patients and for voluntary nurses to attend to patients in their own homes. The charity is now the UK’s leading source of cancer support for individuals living with cancer. The charity also conducts vital research to understand the needs, numbers and experiences of people affected by cancer.

With Macmillan being a charity that is close to their hearts, the team hope to raise as much money as possible for the charity by completing the event.
