Applus UK Ltd are now looking to recruit an Aerospace Technician Apprentice.
This apprenticeship programme is to support and learn from qualified technicians in performing in-service and pre-service Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and inspections on aerospace and industrial components. This includes applying appropriate test methods in line with client requirements, contractual obligations, and Applus UK Ltd. operational procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
-
Self-motivated team player with strong problem-solving skills.
-
Practical, well-organised, positive, and able to work collaboratively or independently.
-
Minimum of three GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above, including English and Maths.

Ability to meet the vision requirements necessary for the mandatory NDT eyesight test (with or without visual aids).
Desirable:
-
A full, current driving licence or actively working towards obtaining one.
What you’ll do at work
As an Apprentice Aerospace NDT Technician, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Assisting qualified technicians with NDT and inspection activities across aerospace and industrial components, using approved techniques. Primary methods include ultrasonic and bond testing of metallic and composite components; additional methods include:

Magnetic Particle Testing
-
Dye Penetrant Testing
-
Radiography
-
-
Supporting technicians in the inspection of incoming materials and equipment prior to use.

Learning and understanding current company, client, and legislative requirements relevant to NDT, and performing all work in full compliance with these standards.

Following all company and site-specific health and safety procedures.

Learning how to maintain NDT equipment, ensuring it remains in good working order and that scheduled checks are completed.

Where you’ll work
Poole
Monday – Friday 8:00 – 4:45pm, Monday – Thursday, 8:00 – 12:30pm on a Friday.
37.5 hours per week.
