An exciting development in the NDT industry!

Following the government approval of the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Engineering Technician Apprenticeship in July 2015, BINDT hope that the ageing profile of NDT technicians can be addressed by enabling school-leavers to embark on a career in NDT*.  The Apprenticeship Scheme combines academic study and practical skills training in the workplace with an aim of developing a fully-rounded NDT Engineering Technician who has the appropriate skills to carry out NDT tasks within a specific industrial sector.  A successful NDT Apprentice will meet the requirements for professional registration as an Engineering Technician (EngTech) with the Engineering Council*.

This month, we are excited to announce that Lavender International is in the process of forming a strategic partnership with a local college to deliver the NDT Engineering Technician Apprenticeship.  After years of hard work and NDT employer input, we are very close to announcing a start date.  We are aware that the funding process will be changing from April 2017; however, up until then the current arrangements will stand for the full term of the apprenticeship.  There will be an update on this and the Apprenticeship in general at our Masterclass on October 19th.

Stay tuned: Further information about the Apprenticeship Scheme will be available in due course.  Should you have any questions about the Apprenticeship Scheme or would like to discuss how to put this into place, please do not hesitate to contact our Business Development Manager, Sam Cunningham on 01226 765769 or sam@lavender-ndt.com.
