We are thrilled to confirm that in April 2015 the shareholders sold the company and it became an Employee Ownership Trust, meaning that it is employee owned, and we are now nearing the end of the transition. Being employee owned means that everyone in our company is a co-owner and equally motivated to ensure the success of the company, and the success of every student we train. We are all responsible, we are all accountable.
Lavender International recently said goodbye to its Chairman, Roger Hamlett and Co-Managing Director Steve Lavender. Both Steve and Roger have served over 30 years with the company and we wish them every happiness for the future.
Lavender International have appointed two new Directors. Jill Thompson, who takes up her position immediately and Ian Griffin who will take up his position on 1st January, 2017.
Jill joined the company 5 years ago in the role of Executive Manager and she worked closely with Steve putting together a succession plan for the business, and this included Employee Ownership. Her role has been operational for the last 5 years and has included the HR function for the company. We recognise the importance of diversity in engineering and particularly NDT, and so are very pleased that Jill has accepted a position on the operational Board of Lavender International. Jill is a member of the BINDT Diversity Working Group.
Ian has been with Lavender International for 27 years and began his career as an NDT tutor, followed by a number of years with our Level 3 Outside Agency. More recently Ian has worked as a Senior Manager within the Training School and has globally managed our training provision. His experience will be a valuable asset to the new operational Board of Lavender International.

Tim Armitt will take up the mantle of Managing Director.
We believe that we are the only NDT training company that is owned by its employees and we are looking forward to an exciting future as we enter this new phase of co-ownership, when we will continue to offer outstanding training and service provision to old and new customers alike.
